This box was made for a wedding ceremony. The purpose was to house the marriage payment as well as a hand-bound leather mushaf. Hand-made in solid walnut with olivewood accents, it also has an inlaid inscription on the top of the dome with the name of the bride and groom. The hinge is made of ebony with mammoth ivory finials.
